The last time Mauricio Barembuem pulled out a release with his home label Minus, was in 2008 with his “Kolimar EP”. Three years later, he returns with “Blue”, a record full of a warm vibe and a fresh percussive organic air, but without losing the dark minimalist essence that represents the label of Richie Hawtin.
The release (MINUS109) contains three tracks:
- Barem – Blue (vox version)
- Barem – Is (Djulz remix)
- Barem – After the storm (Mathias Kaden’s rhythm remix)
These tracks are the prelude of the new album “After the Storm” by the Argentinean that will be launched soon this year. It will be a revelation of the work done by Barem in these years of musical absence at his chosen label. Also is important to highlight the large contrast between his productions and his current DJ sets.
Minus chief decided to bring new remixers who’ve never worked with the label, but have a similar style to the Barem proposal in this EP. Djulz and Mathias Kaden printed a special flavor to the reinterpretations without betraying their beliefs, but respecting the thoughts and essence of the controversial but always influential MINUS.
